We always knew Heather had an encyclopedic mind ...

Heather Kirk, author of "Warsaw Spring" and "A Drop of Rain", has published an article on famous Canadian writer Mazo de la Roche in the Literary Encyclopedia online. Congratulations, Heather! The encyclopedia can be accessed via http://www.literaryencyclopedia.com.

I don't have an encyclopedic mind, I have a groundhog mind. I started to write a book for young people about Mazo de la Roche, and I dug and dug and I found so much new information about her that I just had to write a bunch of articles about her as well as the book. Yours in tunnel-vision euphoria, Heather (no relation to Wiarton Willie).

I remember studying Whiteoaks in Grade eleven English, way back when. I fell in love with the works of de la Roche, devouring all the Jalna books. Great to see they come back in style every once in a while in the library where I work. A fascinating woman she was, too. Peggy
